Ingredients
- 1 loaf of crusty French bread
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- a couple of garlic cloves, minced
- a splash of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- a pinch of salt
- a sprinkle of chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and a splash of olive oil until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread. Tip: For extra flavor, let the butter mixture sit for 10 minutes before spreading.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the buttered bread, followed by a pinch of salt.
- Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy. Tip: Keep an eye on it after 8 minutes to avoid burning.
- Once out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh contrast. Tip: For a ghostly effect, use a kitchen torch to lightly char the edges.
